Relapse prevention and crisis planning

Recovery and relapse prevention are two sides of the same coin. Recovery is about keeping symptoms from getting in the way of your loved one living a life of purpose. Relapse prevention is about making the journey to recovery easier by minimizing crisis along the way. You can’t have one without the other.

Even though it may upset you to think about the next crisis, you’ll be much less stressed once you’ve planned ahead. Having a crisis plan will also help you notice early warning signs and avoid situations that could trigger a relapse.
